Great questions.

I think to change an entrenched system, it has to be viewed as an "And' and not an "Or" --- in other words it will require change from those within AND those from outside. My choice is to be one of the ones on the outside providing solutions to aid those from within.

In terms of preventing those who are benefiting from the current situation from acquiring and suppressing our tools (tech), there's a positive aspect: they'd need to purchase it, requiring me to sell it. If I opt not to sell to them, their ability to buy and suppress it is nullified. While it's true that companies often acquire smaller ones to eliminate competition, this assumes I'd sell initially and that those benefiting from the status quo would pay to silence or maintain control. I doubt that scenario would unfold.
