I agree that the system is working exactly as designed, and with that the design, in and of itself, is flawed---especially as it correlates to the ethos of what the system and overall institution is supposed to represent.

Does the sentiment of the words "Justice for all" align with the reality of what many people face? I don't believe so. And that is the problem and opportunity.

Critiquing a flaw without offering suggestions for improvement seems all too common. What I propose might sound ambitious—it's not merely about reorganizing paperwork or tweaking procedures. What I advocate for are tools, whether high-tech or low-tech, that form the basis for equitable opportunities within the legal system. The essential elements here are fairness and a fair chance. Fairness doesn't guarantee a win; rather, it ensures the opportunity to succeed. Currently, the system heavily favors the wealthy and/or legal professionals, skewing the chance of success for others.
