Thank you for reading and commenting!

I think web3 has a lot of potential and should be embraced. As far as Black people and other historically excluded people that are too often exploited, I believe we have to take control of not only our narrative but the experiences that best serve us.

as far as the technology and capabilities are concerned, I don't think web 3.0 is the issue. The issue, as we know and you addressed in your comment, who is running and operating the companies!? What are their intentions? What companies/founders are being venture backed...and why? As of now, I think most web 3.0 companies/projects are shallow and don't address real challenges and opportunities...which I believe creates a lot of green space for pioneering founders to come in and solve for real world challenges.

I think in order for us to stop being exploited by others, we have to take ownership of the space by creating platforms that elevate our needs, build technology infrastructure, create datasets that are more inclusive and representive, and overall challenge the status quo. This requires more of us building in the space and leveraging the tech to solve problems that directly impact our communities. IMO web 3.0 offers new forms of utility to best serve our needs, but if we don't own and create businesses in the space, we will be exploited...again.
