The mortgage product is a great idea...on paper. If things go right, overall it's not a bad deal. The challenge is when things go bad...whether it's with contractors, HUD consultant, or especially the financial institution.

The builders let us down, but our mortgage company failed us . Ultimately they (lender) are responsible for ensuring the home is safe for the occupants.
